SPY VERSUS SPY (closed for judging)
America, Russia. The blackbird and the Foxbat.
Both staples of Rivalry in the golden age of experimental aviation and perfect mementos cementing the two nations rivalry (and secret under the table love)

While this challenge isn't necessarily about these specific jets, or their respective countries. It is about two jets. What I want for everyone participating is to make two aircraft one surveillance aircraft, and one interceptor. So two posts per Participant. You can make any aircraft you want, doesn't matter if it's real or fictional. What era or even what dimension it hails from.
Also, this is an actual challenge not just a build off. This is designed to push people to think about two aircraft at the same time and work on them in parallel to make sure they can both compete with each other. In the end, both of them should be capable of completing their objectives. I'll be testing these in multiplayer with a friend to make sure that in another of our hands the Spycraft can make it back safely in one scenario and the interceptor can take it out in the other.
General Guidelines:
•XML can be used. Just don't mess with health or Fuel. and maximum throttle input for engines, it's a headache to listen to. Thrust scale is allowed. And everything else is also allowed.
•submission of two aircraft is required, both should be suited for fulfilling their respective roles.
•Fictional aircraft is preferred, this is more of a suggestion though. I just don't want to see a bunch of replicas of the same aircraft. Get those creative juices flowing.
•Every entry with get 2 upvotes.
•No Mods
Role 1 (Spycraft) guidelines:
The goal for this craft is to be able to fly from Maywar's airbase and fly over Krakabloa and Snowstone , take photos of the surrounding terrain and return to wright airport on a single tank of fuel. While also having the capacity to outrun enemy craft.
•altitude or speed... Or both should be used to the advantage of this craft, not maneuverability.
•limited countermeasures allowed, no more than 25 deployments of chaff or flares. Countermeasures aren't a requirement if you're making an aircraft of an earlier era.
•no offensive armament (ie weapons of any kind)
•must have some sort of imaging system, doesn't have to function. Just has to be there for looks. But bonus if the cameras carry out some sort of function. A great example of spy cameras is the ones used on the Lockheed U-2.
•do not except 3000mph (4900kmph)
•do not exceed 75,000 ft (22,000m)
Role 2 (Interceptor, Anti Spycraft) Guidelines:
The interceptors goal is to take off from Bandit airport on Krakabloa to intercept and destroy the Spycraft before it can land at Wright airport. The interceptors cannot be faster than the Spycraft on its own power.
•Offensive armament is allowed, XML cannot be used to mess with the targeting distance and, angle, maneuverability or fuel of the missile, but velocity is allowed along with any other unmentioned variables. Guns are also allowed.
•Altitude limitations stand.
•Speed cannot exceed the Spycraft.
Point Distribution, rewards and deadline.
•10 points per entry. (20 points total)
•10 points if craft 1 can complete it's objective.
•10 points if craft 2 can complete it's objective.
•1-10 points for the flighted characteristics of either craft. Like if they both feel like they fit their respective roles. **(20 points total)
•1-10 points for attention to detail. Now that there's lettering, decals, fuselage cutting and all that jazz. Might as well put it all to use.
•up to 25 point for final impressions, me and my friend with both be flying both of the aircraft. Aside from aforementioned properties of the aircraft we'll be taking a look at any mechanisms and seams and transitions between panels and other minute things in the builder and come up with a point value for the attention spent on making gaps and nudges as seamless as possible.
Think of it like a show car inspection. It's not about the car, it's about the parts.
•5 points for looks, less points here because beauty is objective. I just need to make the final score 100 points so everyone gets 5 points as long as they're happy with their craft.

First: @CaptainFranchfries :
•Goals 1-3 completed. 30pts
•flight characteristics spy: 8.5/10
•flight characteristics counterspy: 8.5/10
•attention to detail: 8/10
Final impressions: 22 points: they were a bit hard to balance against each other and had to make concessions in order to even the playing field, however the controls were pretty good and minimal trimming was needed. Once we tuned the crafts In a bit they were very enjoyable to compete with.

Second:@femboykiller0w0
• goals 1-3 completed: 30 pts
•flight characteristics spy: 6.5/10
•flight characteristics counterspy: 6.5/10
•Attention to detail: 8.5/10
Final impressions: 24 points: both aircraft were well balanced against each other, the flight was good but both needed trimming. The were very fun to compete with and since they were ready to use without concessions you get extra marks.
75.5 total.
Since both of you were the only valid contestants, and both got prize places. You both win. Reply to this with how you want to go about the prize payment :)

@FarrowTECH ok here it is yolo#5373
@femboykiller0w0 sounds good, send me your tag when available, thanks for participating 👍
@FarrowTECH Thanks for the challenge. I think using discord is good
@CaptainFranchfries urs too. I love ur original design
@femboykiller0w0 Great job on your crafts, they were both really fun to fly!
@FarrowTECH Woo! The Dorito won! Not bad considering I built the two crafts in a week to make it before the original deadline. I do agree that they weren’t really well match against each other, the final interceptor felt really rubbish in testing. Would have made it better but I wasn’t able to test them against each other properly. If you wouldn’t mind, we can discuss the prize on discord, here’s my tag: Captain Franchfries#4655
Thanks again for the opportunity to participate in this great challenge. Looking forward to the next one!
@FarrowTECH that’s a lot of 6s!
@CaptainFranchfries yeah there's only you and @femboykiller0w0 who successfully completed the challenge, so basically I just have to figure out which of you is first and second. Me and my friend will be testing them Friday and will probably have our scores by the end of Friday or later in the weekend, depends on work scheduling.
@FarrowTECH Alrighty then. It’s a shame not many people participated, this was a really fun and enjoyable challenge/build
@CaptainFranchfries I'm moving apartments currently so there's probably a few more days. Though the turnout was super underwhelming.
@FarrowTECH Is the challenge over? I was just wondering
@GhostHTX yeah the deadline will probably be extended especially since only just yesterday it got more popular.
Just saw this and would like to enter. Any chance of getting an extension?
@Dragoranos also thanks for the spotlight 👍
@Dragoranos ?
Probably
@Theflyingcone
All good mate, good luck👍
I will attempt this challenge but I am working on another big plane so the results might not be that good
@Khanhlam yep some modifications are allowed, especially if you want to code in custom behaviors. Which I definitely love to see. As long as the modifications aren't blatantly fantastical I doubt any points will be lost on this.
Most people will do fine here as long as the two craft they submit can remain competitive against one another. The main goal of the challenge is to guage the amount of forethought and testing gone into the entries since it's impossible to make two craft balanced in capabilities without planning ahead or building and testing in parallel. Im itching to see what people are building but I equally hope that everyone uses all the time they can right up to the deadline.
Offensive armament is allowed, XML cannot be used to mess with the targeting distance and, angle, maneuverability or fuel of the missile, but velocity is allowed along with any other unmentioned variables
So basically don't make it too crazy? The intercept missile in SP doesn't have wide range, the farthest distance angle that it can lock is too small, plus distance of all the missiles is small without tunning it.
@Tomcatbetterthanhornet about 20 km. I'll be using a radar component. But ranged will probably be adjusted on case by case.
@FarrowTECH Last question, when does the interceptor take off, I kinda need to know the climb requirements vs the speed requirements, also are we allowed to use custom missiles made by other ppl
