My attempt at a verabirb that only used rotors. It somewhat work but the rear rotor doesnt want to work with me.

Oh the rear rotor.
For the throttle, it should be always on (hint: turn on throttle governor) because engines take time to start, but cannot overspeed, so keep it spinning.
Since it is always spinning, you just need to control the propeller pitch, and in case the engine slowed down, have the engine configure to like, 1000 hp so it can ALWAYS pull the plane this way and that.
