This was based off a German Experimental VTOL transport, the Dornier Do 31. It was a twin engine aircraft designed to NATO specification NBMR-4 and was powered by Rolls Royce Pegasus. The aircraft never got beyond the prototype stage and was cancelled in 1970. This aircraft handles well, although is not very accurate, as I did it on a plane, so I couldn't see exactly what the shape was.
