1946 John Deere model L
Yet another quality tractor from LLFarmworks. This is a 1946 John Deere model L. A rather uncommon tractor. Today while we were doing dirt work, my uncle though he should take a model L and make it into a small bulldozer. If you've ever done dirt work, you'd know why. I thought it was a good idea and it inspired me to build this.
Late in 1937 the Deere Tractor Company brought out it's John DeereModel L tractor to replace the Model 62. The Model L was promoted as a lightweight, economical tractor that could handle all work ordinarily done with a team of horses. The Model L continued with the two cylinder engine, however it was a vertical engine rather than the traditional horizontal. The transmission was a standard automotive type with 3 forward speeds....2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 6 miles per hour. My gears, however, are considerably faster for your enjoyment. A foot clutch replaced the hand clutch. The Model L could pull a single 12 inch plow in second gear. Having individual rear brakes the L could turn a 7 foot circle. Adjustable rear tread was another nice feature for vegetable &row crop farmers. A full line of equipment for the Model L was manufactured. Unfortunately the tractor lacked any mechanical or hydraulic lifting capability. :(
To drive, press one and throttle up. I had to resort to a VTOL cart because this model was too small to fit one on board. Add ACT2 for second gear and ACT3 for third. The tractor is the most stable in third, although you will not want to go down hills with the engines on at all. Because of the VTOL cart, this tractor is amphibious, although you can't see where you are going underwater. You can push the cart around, too. This is a very nice tractor for exploring the island and it is one of my favorites yet. Thank you for downloading!

16.2k LordofLegoNational champion of the NATPA, if you needed to know. Oh, and my grandfather won the championship for one class that was in a different category than my uncle. I don't know the specifics because I didn't go to that one.9.4 years ago

16.2k LordofLego@PlanesOfOld I live in the country, but not on a farm. My grandfather and my two uncles and I all do antique tractor pulling, though. My uncle Brian Raml is the national champion for indoor winter tractor pulling for I think three years now. The rest of us are just getting started. If you could make a pulling sled, that would be super. I made one myself, but I couldn't get it to work. Otherwise a disk or a plow from that era would be cool. I'm glad you like these!9.4 years ago
