In 1959, SAC started plans for a delta winged strike aircraft called the Verity. This name was inspired by the names of the fairly recent V-bombers. During the early 60s, SAC had doubts because its design meant that it would be better off as a medium bomber. Soon the decision was made that the idea of a strike aircraft was not going to work as well as they hoped and so, it was unveiled to the public as a bomber. Despite the launch of the C20 Stratocruiser years later, Its service as a medium bomber lived on till the 80s. After this, it was used as a frontline bomber after being equipped with HUD
AG2 for landing parachute (trust me you need it for landing)
