Lore

In an alternate timeline where Austria-Hungary continued to exist into the 21st century, the legendary SMS Sopron was commissioned in 2015, marking a new era of naval power for the nation. The ship was a marvel of engineering, designed to showcase the technological prowess and military might of the reinvigorated Austro-Hungarian Empire.

The SMS Sopron was a battleship of immense size and power, constructed with the expertise of the Budapest Corps, known for their groundbreaking innovations in naval architecture. It boasted four main battery turrets, each housing three Budapest Corps. 400mm cannons, capable of unleashing devastating firepower upon its adversaries.

To ensure comprehensive defense against aerial threats, the ship featured a network of smaller anti-air flak guns and 200mm turrets strategically placed across its hull. These systems were designed to provide effective point defense, ensuring that no enemy aircraft or missiles could penetrate the ship's protective perimeter.

One of the most advanced defensive systems aboard the SMS Sopron was its anti-air missile launcher. Equipped with the Centaur Mk.1 supersonic missile, this launcher could engage and neutralize hostile targets at a range of up to 15 kilometers. This capability made the ship a formidable force in countering aerial assaults, bolstering its reputation as an impregnable fortress at sea.

Upon its commissioning, the SMS Sopron swiftly replaced the aging Blackstar battleship as the new pride of the Austro-Hungarian navy. It served as the flagship of the country, representing the might and determination of the empire on the world stage. The vessel was a symbol of national unity, projecting Austria-Hungary's resurgence as a major global power.

However, tragedy befell the SMS Sopron during the tumultuous years of the 3rd World War. As Russia's aggression grew unchecked, the ship was deployed to the Black Sea to defend against the advancing enemy forces. In a fierce and harrowing battle, the SMS Sopron fought valiantly against overwhelming odds.
During its last battle, the SMS Sopron has destroyed 3 enemy Battlecruisers and 2 Battleships when the MMF Marshal Ustinov blew it's ammorack with a devastating missile strike, snapping the ship in half. Despite its formidable capabilities, the ship was sunk, marking a solemn end to its illustrious service.

The sinking of the SMS Sopron became a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Austro-Hungarian navy in their struggle against defending European waters. It serves as a testament to the bravery and dedication of the sailors who fought to defend their homeland and protect the ideals of Austria-Hungary and Europe until the very end. The ship's legacy lives on, forever etched in the annals of Austro-Hungarian history as a symbol of national resilience and valor.
