The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat long-range supersonic fighter-bomber, designed and manufactured at the time by the American company McDonnell Douglas in the early sixties. During its long operational life it became one of the icons of American air superiority during the Vietnam War and in the period of the Cold War, it is still in service with some air forces.
