A-716, IAF Surveillance Aircraft
Designed to operate in any conditions, the IAF uses the A-716 mainly to carry out long-endurance patrols. With its preset fuel load seen here, the aircraft can cover up to 520 miles non-stop. Thanks to its contra-rotating engine layout, the airframe has a reasonable top speed of 270 mph and is agile enough to shake most pursuers or anti-aircraft fire. The version here is surveillance, featurieng communication antenna and a boat-shaped fairing under the fuselage with no countermeasures. Some variants, such as the ECW variant carry jamming equipment, while the Navy version can carry up to 4 Anti-Shipping Missiles or deployable survival equipment for Search and Rescue. The A-716 is set to be a mainstay of the IAF for years to come.
