Devenloped originally to face the Covenant threat, the Broadsword became one of the most feared and respected fighters of the UNSC. Wielding 18 short-range antifighter missiles, 6 long-range antifighter missiles, and 3 Spearhead missiles bearing HAVOK tactical nuclear weapons, the Broadsword is rightfully one of the best the UNSC has to offer in terms of fighter development. One Broadsword could easily take out a whole squandron of Type-31 Seraphs. Notably, the Broadsword was usally catapult-launched and hook-landed (STOL), unlike the other UNSC fighters capable of VTOL.
