Development History

The MK-18A Is a modified trainer that is turned into a full blown working Fighter Jet by Vakhir Manworks. It was originally is a trainer jet made by Geuman Aerospace, however due to its cost and reliability, Vakhir saw an opportunity to turn it into a fighter jet.

The plan was started in 1998, to turn one of the trainer into a fighter jet. A swept wing is proposed and so is a stronger engine, main armaments would be a single 20mm Oerlikon placed on its side, simple and reliable.

Unlike other swept wing aircraft however, the MK-18 swept wing was probably the simplest out there, using only a rotating motor and a hole on the fake wing, it is proven to be a cheap and reliable method unlike those overpriced models out there.

The prototype was finished in 29th June of 2000, and the first prototype was flown the next day. The test was, quite successful though there's drowbacks on the aircraft. The swept wing proven to be successful, however the airframe seems to be very unprotected. It might a cheap might on the skies, but it might as well be a paper plane with guns on it.

Specific aircraft lore

This specific aircraft is the Mauler 8, piloted by Jimothy "Snoopy" Jenkins. He is an experienced canadian pilot to say the least, though he is a big history nerd and slightly insane in the head. Snoopy are very dominant during dogfights, wanting to do everything first and will get mad at you for not following him. His wingman, Mauler 7, is a long best friend to him, and he (8) will always be loyal to him.

Except that one time during Operation D.A.W.N... but it's a story for another time.
