The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine, all-weather fighter aircraft designed for air superiority. Introduced in 1976, it has been a cornerstone of the U.S. Air Force and allied nations’ air forces. Key features include: Air Superiority: Designed to gain and maintain air supremacy over battlefields, the F-15 has a remarkable combat record with over 100 aerial victories and no losses. Versatility: Although initially focused on air-to-air combat, the F-15 was later adapted to include a secondary ground-attack capability. Design: The Eagle has a wide fuselage for effective lifting, and it was designed to carry four Sparrow missiles. It can achieve a combat thrust-to-weight ratio in excess of 1:1. Variants: Several variants have been produced, including the F-15C and D models, which entered production in 1978. These models were equipped with improved avionics and increased fuel capacity. Modernization: The F-15 has undergone continuous upgrades, such as the Multistage Improvement Program (MSIP) and the Advanced Eagle family, which includes the F-15EX Eagle II. The F-15 Eagle remains in service with numerous countries and is expected to continue operating into the 2030s. The F-15E Strike Eagle played a significant role in Operation Desert Storm. It was deployed in response to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. During Operation Desert Storm, which began on January 17, 1991, the F-15E was involved in various missions, including attacking fixed Scud missile installations in western Iraq. On the first night of the operation, 24 F-15Es launched an attack on five such installations. They continued these missions throughout the night, with a second strike involving 21 F-15Es. Additionally, the F-15E conducted nighttime hunter missions over western Iraq, searching for mobile Scud launchers and performing random bombings in suspected areas to deter Iraqi launches. The after burner automaticaly enables at 95% throttle. CONTROLS: AG1= CANOPY AG2= ARM MISSLES AG3= JETTISON FUEL TANKS AG4= COCKPIT LIGHTS AG5-8= BLANK
