The M720 MLRS is an armored, self-propelled multiple rocket launcher employed by the Paternian Army and export customers. It can employ several types of 8-inch rocket: the M28 cluster rocket with 644 hand grenade-sized submunitions, M29 practice rocket, M31 unguided unitary warhead, M32 guided unitary warhead, M33 SADARM with 161 top-attack anti-armor submunitions, M34 FASCAM, with 322 mines, and M41/MGM-141 ATACMS tactical ballistic missile. The ATACMS requires a different module identical in appearance but containing only one weapon, as it has an 16-inch diameter than the 8-inch diameter of standard rockets. The wide variety of weapons which could be fitted allow it to function as both an area denial, area saturation, and precision strike weapon.
