The Pz. Jag. Wg. 5 is a wheeled tank destroyer with lots of stolen allied technology. The technology is then taken one step further and refitted to one vehicle.

"Hey Hans... You know zis thing here?"

That's one of the tech in there, APFSDS shells. An APDS shell given a sleeker penetrator with fins as stabilization.

"Hey Fritz, what's with ze barrel here?"
"Hans, das ist called Rifling"
"Will muzzle velocity be better if we make zis smooth?"
"Hmm, good idea Hans"

Smoothbore barrel, because APFSDS needs more velocity

With those technology, they made a wheeled tank destroyer with the desired performance.
