The Macchi C.220 was an Italian jet engine testbed created from a modified C.205 back in 1944. Although it underperformed when compared to the aircraft it was based off of, it represented a great milestone in Italian aviation. Experience gained from the C.220 was used in later designs. The C.220 was also used to test Italian air to ground rockets.
AG 1-6 for rockets
VTOL for flaps
