ABOUT THIS PLANE:

Based on the layout of the AtomRC Dolphin RC Plane, I decided to make a life-size version on SimplePlanes to determine if the airframe is feasible. However, I went a bit overboard in its size, and by the time I realized that I had already completed its layout resulting in a 17:1 scale. There are also key differences to the original layout like its front fuselage which is not circular but boxy, the canards are moving, winglets are added, a landing gear was also added, airbrakes are also installed and the entire propulsion is via a jet engine and not a propeller which resulted in the addition of inlets.

This plane’s capabilities are based on the RQ-4 Global Hawk and it got its name from Pelorus Jack, a Risso's Dolphin from New Zealand who used to guide ships through a treacherous path.

AIRCRAFT DESCRIPTION:

A High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Low Observable Reconnaissance Drone, named after a famous Dolphin that helped guide ships. Just like its namesake, Pelorus’ mission is to provide guidance and intelligence vital to the battlefield. It has been retrofitted with armaments enhancing its support capabilities in Ground Operations in any airspace.

Controls:

• AG1 = Canopy
• AG2 = Jettison Pylons
• AG3 = HUD Cam Targeting
• AG4 = Navigation Lights
• AG5 = Formation Lights

TRIM = Trim

NOTES:

• On Landing,
  Set Throttle to 30% and Full TRIM Down

• For Targeting using HUD,
  The HUD Camera uses Pitch and Roll for Movement, so Control using Mouse as Joystick on PC.
  Also, Activating AG3 enables Gyro so you don't have to worry about the plane's movement while targeting.
