Description

Designed and manufactured by Plage i Laskiewicz in Lublin, Poland, the A.20 rapidly departed from the company’s other aircraft. Featuring a single monoplane wing and armed with a 7.7 mm machine gun, the aircraft differed from its contemporaries. Wedged between the backplate and the main wing spar, the pilot fit snugly in the cockpit. Large wingtip ailerons made the craft very maneuverable, but its engine and weak armament left more to be desired by aircrews and the Polish Air Force. It was also challenging to bail out as the pilot had to maneuver their legs from out under the wing and instrument panel taking up precious seconds that could be used pulling a parachute chord. This led to multiple fatalities among veteran and new pilots. This combined with an unreliable engine and a weak main armament left a sour taste in the mouths of the Polish defense ministry. Because of this, the Polish Air Force sought to phase out the new A.20s.

Notes

It's been a while since I last played the game. Saw this challenge and thought it would be a good idea. Kind of refreshing to build something again. I guess that's all. Not much to the aircraft, just a simple fighter. Might build more versions in the future. We'll see.
