ML-328 Egret Flying Boat

Small flying boat/seaplane. Basically a regional airliner for the water.

Controls:
Standard flight controls.
VTOL: Flaps
AG1: Arms water brakes
AG2: Toggles landing lights
AG8: Toggles running lights

Water takeoff only. To take off, set trim to full nose up, and set flaps at 1/3 VTOL down, and apply full throttle. In this condition it will unstick from the water at around 155MPH, and you'll want to reset the trim to neutral at about 165-170MPH. Pull flaps up at around 180MPH, and after that it flies pretty normally. You will want to apply nose down trim at speeds above 210MPH to counteract the downforce of the tail.

For landing, throttle back to 25% throttle, VTOL down for flaps, and trim the nose full up like on takeoff. Should be able to land at around 120-130MPH in this configuration. Once on the water, you can activate the water brakes with AG1 to slow down faster on the water.

I did not include a water rudder on this one, so turning on the water is a bit difficult, but a combination of yaw and roll to "drag" one of the wing pontoons seems effective. Like my previous Atlas the Egret does not have any landing gear, so cannot operate from land. (I might make an amphibian version later) This is also an upload with my first experimentation with a “stretched” beacon light to give it more of an appearance of a spotlight for the landing lights. I built this as sort of a "feeder" aircraft to go with something like the Atlas. Shuttling passengers in short hops in a regional setting, and if flying long distance then to a waiting larger aircraft like the Atlas. Not nearly as large as the Atlas, also not as fast either, but a fun little aircraft to fly around in. Hope you enjoy!

    This is a really nice seaplane! Very fun to fly and I absolutely love the look. It feels like what a airliner flying boat from the 70s would look like
