[RD] North American Aviation F-86F-25 Sabre V2
The North American F-86F-25, nicknamed the Sabrejet, was the best of its time. It was one of the fastest and most maneuverable aircraft. The F-86F changed the meaning of "MiG Alley:" from a base with numerous MiG-15s to a place full of downed MiGs. The ratio of Sabre shot down to MiGs downed during the Korean War was about 1/1.8 (some sources even say 1/5). The Sabre could do anything from air superiority, to close air support, to bombing. In May of 1953, Jacqueline Cochran broke the sound barrier while in a steep dive. This made her the first woman to break the speed of sound, and she was one of the first to break it in a Sabre. Well here it is. The payload is 16× 127 mm (5.0 in.) rockets. The controls are AG1 is the the lights and AG2-5 launch the rockets. Since the Sabre has no afterburner, I have added gun smoke.
Upgrades: new HUD, upgraded cockpit, more
realistic engine, and a new attack payload.
