R.E.T. 1
Hello everyone, here's my first post of 2022 and for someone that has followed me this may be a breath of fresh air in terms of type of builds. So here it is my first ever train.
-Characteristics
This is a high-speed train (or Rapid Electric Train as the name suggests) with a record speed of 316 km/h. This train is inspired by the Italian ETR 500 and the Swedish X2000 so his design is composed of two power cars at each end and 3 passenger coaches in the middle
-Lore (yes you can ignore this)
the National Railway Company (N.R.C.) was getting ready to bring heavy modification to its rail network allowing for higher and higher operational speed on the "Hyper Direct" international Express lines. This was required because of growing competition from car/air travel and also from a new rail operator E.S.E. that was experimenting with high-speed tilting train services. the First prototype of the R.E.T. was soon tested and the train did test runs with passengers few months after but all the special passengers complained about the comfort and on how the train was being operated. The N.R.C. stopped service and just when they needed help to improve the sets, they managed to buy E.S.E. that went bankrupt because of economic losses caused by terrible reliability of their tilting sets. The two companies agreed that E.S.E. would get to take the major role of controlling operation of future high-speed sets while the N.R.C. would have to make sure the lines and the trains were well maintained at all time. The train became the first to operate at 280km/h regularly in the country and was a major success for the rail industry of the nation.
