Wombat

This the Wombat, an Australian fighter/bomber.

Designed by the people at the pointy end of the country, this aircraft had a few new ideas built into it.

An enclosed cockpit, twin Vickers Machine Guns mounted on top of the wing so they can fire faster and not hit the 4 bladed propeller, which is driven by a 2000 Horsepower Radial Engine.

They also discovered that the aircraft was slightly nose heavy and liked to nose over if the brakes were applied too heavily, so braking parachutes were added to help stop the aircraft, with the brakes only being needed to totally stop the aircraft.

Sadly, this aircraft does not really exist, but it could have.

Controls as per usual, AG1 for the braking chutes.

I've taken a liking to bi-planes, they are fun to make and fly.
I might make a futuristic one, all sleek and pointy next, just for giggles.

    Interesting fact.
Australia does have a small handful of Fighter aircraft it has designed and built.
I'm thinking I might make one of those, being a good Aussie bloke.
