Originally designed as an airliner by Ukraine Works, the PZL-73A "Prawy" was built from the Ukraine Works Model-418 as their competitor to the XPZL-74 and XPZL-75, which were designed to fly deep into enemy territory with humongous bombs. The "Prawy" and PZL-74 "Aerodynamiczne" were chosen after the Polish Gov. found out the XPZL-75 was a scheme by the Russians to demoralize the Polish by knocking out their major bomber force.
In the end, the "Prawy" was used to bomb Russian land targets like factories, railway stations, ect. While the "Aerodynamiczne" was used to bomb naval targets like Carriers, Ports, Drydocks, ect.
The PZL-73 carried four 16mm DSKZ-16-44s, four 23mm DSKZ-23-44 (Same as the PZL-153-A Sokol II), and eight 7.92mm DSKZ-7.92-40 machine guns, with fourteen 500kg bombs, and one 45mm FLAK gun
