@Stingray Yeah, the offset is inevitable with a custom crosshair. The only way to get a custom crosshair to line up with the guns is to have them positioned coaxially. For practical purposes, the small offset doesn't matter and can be easily adjusted for by the pilot/gunner. I can hit any ship from the limits of visual range with this crosshair, I just have to remember to line up the target with the bottom of the horizontal bars.
Your Custom reticle looks fine on OSX platforms. Aiming your lasers is an art, on my platforms: the Jundroo stock reticle predicts better where your laser strikes will hit than the new custom reticle -> which aims a tad too high. I'm in the midst of testing a combined air/water anti-ship platform containing 3 of your custom Lasers. (Their surface-to-surface range is easily 5 miles, but just like the airborne builds of yours, they must be aimed at slow speeds with precision.) @SledDriver
For future reference, I sometimeswill test larger builds on my OSX desktop. Desktop handles any size download, yet I find the stock "reticle" and tablet-like thrust and pitch/roll control "circles" fairly unuseful on the OSX GIU. Need a joystick, here. Until then, my iOS tablet has a more user-friendly GUI. @SledDriver
@Stingray Well, it's hard to cater to every device out there...
Answer: my antique iPad Pro will not display your custom reticle, only the stock cockpit view. Can download yet not operate this build on my old iPad mobile. However, your new custom crosshair operates well on my andriod Pixel tablet, it is dead center. TMI, no - even @AndrewGarrison is aware that this SP App has wildly different behavior per each testor’s platform @SledDriver
Thanks, @Stingray. Is the crosshair the right size on your tablet, or is it too small?
Nice handling! (Considering that I tested this on an old mobile android tablet.). Great build!
@Alpha029 Glad you like my work. Unfortunately, to get an acceptable level of aesthetics, you usually need at least around 400 parts. On the bright side, though, you're getting a computer, which is great.
@SledDriver Nicely put
@SledDriver XD
Wise words. @SledDriver
@Maxwell1 Well, for one thing, I've never been a Star Wars fan, and for another, I have a deep-seated aversion to remaking someone else's work.
As for "so much thought into simple things," everyone puts a great deal of themselves into whatever they create, whether they're aware of it or not. All the best builders on this site have a distinctive style of their own, and that's because your entire being -- the sum of your knowledge, intelligence, and personality -- affects everything you create. And finally, putting thought into things, whether it's operating a nuclear reactor or toasting bread, is always a good thing.
@Jetpackturtle Smooth as a robot baby's bottom.
Btw why don’t you make the Naboo ships? I think they are right up your alley. @SledDriver
Haha. It’s cool you give so much thought into such simple looking things. As for the last part, I thought it was about time I tell you what I’ve been thinking when I saw your recent, more cosmetic creations. @SledDriver
IT'S SO SMOOOOOOTH :DDDDDDDDDDDD
@getorge Yeah, I thought it was time for a super-smooth build.
@Maxwell1 Trust me, it's not (and never will be) fan service. As for intakes, it depends on what I'm building -- an futuristic space plane may not need them, a terrestrial aircraft does.
As for colors, I've been using them sporadically for quite a while. I explain why I stick to plain metallic color schemes on my profile.
Maybe you haven't checked the website (or at least my posts) lately?
Re: the last part of your question, my designs have always been evolving.
Looks so smoooooooth!
You’re including intakes and different colors recently. Which is a good thing because I was getting bored of weird monolith looking things. It it just fan-service, or are your designs evolving?
