The Lockheed JetStar (company designation L-329 and L-1329 ; designated C-140 in service with the USAF) is a business jet produced from the early 1960s to the 1970s. The JetStar was the first aircraft intended as a business jet to enter service. It was also the largest aircraft in its class for many years, with a total of ten seats and two crew members. It is distinguishable from other small jets by its four engines, mounted at the rear of the fuselage in a similar fashion to the Vickers VC10 airliner., which made its maiden flight several years later, and because of the slipper-shaped fuel tanks mounted under the wings
