Kawasaki Ki-91 Sagi

In 1944, Japan was in need of a new, easily built and cheap fighter that could easily be disassembled, transported by ship, and reassembled at any island it is sent to. Kawasaki entered with the Sagi, or heron, and used heavy influence from the German Bf-109. Since their lead designer was an apprentice to a German designer, he sought influence from the origin of his teacher. With the narrow landing gear, it allows easy removal of the wings, and can tow the fuselage anywhere, as well as makes a steady platform to reattach the wings without any extra gear to put the fuselage on. Using a total of four 12.7 mm machine guns, it has decent armament, and the razorback design adds a little extra protection to the rear of the pilot. It uses the Mitsubishi Ha-12-II 14 cylinder radial engine, and a narrow cowling to allow extra aerodynamics. When it was released, the American and British pilots thought they were fighting modified Bf-109’s, hense the Allied code “Jerry” was given to the Ki-91. Unfortunately very few were made, and being so close towards the end of the war, it was used for kamakazi attacks by replacing the droptank with a fixed bomb and removing all guns and armor out of the aircraft. (This is a fictional aircraft and story, just thought it would be cool)
