ENFIELD - A rare mythical/heraldic beast of Irish origin, the enfield consists of the head of a fox, the wings, breast, and talons (as forelegs) of a peregrine falcon, the body and hindquarters of a greyhound, and the tail of a wolf. It is symbolic of cleverness, tenacity, loyalty, and above all speed.

Background Story:
Around the beginning of the ninth cycle of the XIX Dynasty, the Archon Chancellery was commissioned to design and build a light weight, high speed interceptor fighter. As a result, the Chancellery developed the ENFIELD, a single-seat interceptor fighter with an emphasis on extreme speed. The Chancellery utilized a modified lifting body concept, including its standard CONSTELLATION integrated engine system, powered by the UMBRA dark energy reactor. This gave the new plane virtually unlimited range together with VTOL capabilities and hypersonic speeds. The resulting aircraft had a top speed of greater than Mach 6, good maneuverability, and superior armament.

The ENFIELD features several advanced weapons systems, including a pair of wing mounted DARK STAR dark energy cannons, each combined with a BLUE STAR long range aiming laser; two ION CANNON particle guns, each operated on a pair of synchronized electron beam virtual guide rails; ten FANG air-to-air missiles along with six TALON air-to-ground missiles; a pair of wingtip mounted weapons pods, each containing a STAR BURST and a STAR FIRE laser weapons system; and a pair of stabilizer mounted anti-aircraft METEOR SWARM shard laser cannons.

Activation Groups:
1 - Engages the CONSTELLATION integrated engine system, which includes an enhanced gyro-stabilization unit (on whenever AG-1 is active), the QUANTUM DRIVE indirect thrust/boost engine (VTOL bar up), and the anti-gravity GRAVITON VTOL motor (VTOL bar down).
2 - Activates the twinned DARK STAR dark energy cannons together with the BLUE STAR aiming lasers.
3 - Engages the twin ION CANNONS Particle Guns with electron virtual rail guide beams.
4 - Activates the FANG advanced AA missile system (Interceptor based x 10).
5 - Activates the TALON advanced AG missile system (Cleaver based x 6).
6 - Activates the STAR FIRE dual beam laser cannons and the STAR BURST stern-chaser pulse cannons.
7 - Activates the twin METEOR SWARM Shard Laser Cannons.
8 - disconnects the main UMBRA reactor, deactivating all active sensors (shown by extinguishing the various engine and running lights).
