Ground Beacon mk1

162k spefyjerbf  7.9 years ago

This beacon fires a beam of light upward for all surrounding aircraft to see. Note that it has to be completely level for the beam to focus! If the beam is not focused, it will scatter and you will see multiple beams appear and disappear.

Throttle to activate the beacon.

The beam needs to be bigger. Other than that, great job. I would use this in multiplayer.

@TheSimpleMan Good idea. It would only require a few of those beacons. If you want, you can also give it a try.

I first tried this while it was tilted, and the multiple beacon effect that I was warned about occurred, but it would be cool if from it you could develop a sort of "rainy" effect

@Supercraft888 Thanks! I might try the wing gun method because the engine can be buggy when it isnt level. I wished that it didn't get messed up when pivoted, because it would have made a great laser sight.

@AaltonenIndustries Yea, just remember, even if you log off, the blue engine exhaust might stay! So when you are thinking of leaving a server, spawn in a normal plane and let the engines burn for a second, so the beacon exhaust flame de-spawns.

I see how it works, and I must say; that's very smart, thought it was like a really long wing gun that was scaled down and then stretched, but it's actually just a VTOL...not bad
