About the 787 Dreamliner:

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is an American wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. After dropping its unconventional Sonic Cruiser project, Boeing announced the conventional 7E7 on January 29, 2003, which focused largely on efficiency. The program was launched on April 26, 2004, with an order for 50 aircraft from All Nippon Airways (ANA), targeting a 2008 introduction. On July 8, 2007, a prototype 787 without major operating systems was rolled out; subsequently the aircraft experienced multiple delays, until its maiden flight on December 15, 2009. Type certification was received in August 2011, and the first 787-8 was delivered in September 2011 and entered commercial service on October 26, 2011, with ANA.

About HL8515:

HL8515 was Korean Air's (coincidentally) first 787-10 to join Korean Air's expanding fleet. It was to be used on the Seoul Incheon-Tokyo Narita route, but was also seen on more far out places like Sea-Tac and Shanghai. This plane was also the first plane to be painted in Korean Air's new livery, which removed the grey cheatline, and introduced a hollowed out Taegeuk symbol and a new typeface.

This livery gained backlash on the Internet, with many people thinking the old livery was better than the new, and it also seemed pointless to change a timeless icon into a knock-off KLM. Despite this, the reason why Korean Air Changed its look in the first place is because it merged with Korean carrier Asiana Airlines, to create a sort of...super-korean airline? So the change is justified.

This specific aircraft had its first flight on 23/4/2024, is 1.0 years old, and was tested at Charleston International Airport (CHS/KCHS), with the test registration N2004S. The MSN is 66878, and Line number is 1152.
