A-2 Red Raven
My entry to the Light CAS Challenge
The A-2 Red Raven is a [fictional] light CAS aircraft.
Controls
VTOL for flaps
AG1 for lights
Background
After evaluating the capabilities of CAS aircraft of the time like the A-10 and the Su-25, many shortcomings were identified. Namely, those aircraft were too expensive to maintain and had difficulty identifying targets which caused a lot of friendly fire incidents.
A decision was made to develop a light CAS platform whose primary weapon would have been rocket pods mounted inside the fuselage for maximum accuracy. The rockets would still be a formidable weapon in the battlefield but also much cheaper to deploy than guided missiles. The aircraft would also have a cockpit with a downward-looking window, a target tracking camera and a second crew member to identify targets easier and reduce the chance of friendly fire.
Weapons
63 x Hydra 70 rockets
6 x AGM-114 missiles
2 x 1000 lb bombs
2 x AIM-120A missiles for self defense
2 x 20 mm autocannons
The cockpit
*the trim control will be a bit different in game as i updated it after making this pic but now it's labeled so hopefully no confusion
Other features
Target tracking camera (only works correctly at low pitch angles, up to 30 deg, because otherwise i'd have to do some complex trigonometry and you guessed right, i'm lazy)
Automatic slats for better control in high AOA maneuvers
VR-capable cockpit with a downward facing window, you can use SP's bomb impact point indicator while in cockpit view
Cockpit view head motion with realistic gun sight that moves with your head

Have a nice day
