The Dart Recce is a reconnaissance variant of the Dart Interceptor. As the problems with the Interceptor missile did not affect the Dart Recce, it was decided to deploy the machine. It was faster than the Dart due to the removal of weapons and replacement with a single multi-sensor pod. It quickly proved a vital asset, able to outrun the vaunted Hermes at any altitude.

Intelligence gained by the Dart Recce was invaluable in the destruction of Army Alpha during the Second Olympian War. Able to operate with impunity, pilots often undertook otherwise impossible missions, giving advance notice to an upcoming offensive. They also showed that the defenses near the town of Brynsk, a strategic hub, were weak. With this information, Pilotmario Army forces were able to launch a surprise offensive on Brynsk, carving a deep salient which threw the Olympians into panic, surrounding the elite 11th "Leonidas" Infantry Division and the 22nd "Kratos" Armored Division, annihilating both units in a swift and decisive when they attempted to retake Brynsk. With their best units destroyed and the rest in panic, the Olympians were forced to concede to Marian terms and left the occupied territories. It has since been retired in favor for the Renegade.
