An NFJ-01 modified for use as a forward control, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare platform. Its STOL capabilities allow it to operate unassisted from an aircraft carrier, even when loaded with three torpedoes. Despite its performance, crews have taken to calling it “the ugly duckling” on account of its odd appearance and dark colors.
