N.R. Type 250
Hello everyone, here's a quick post before summer comes around. I know i should have posted this thing like.... 4 months ago... But me delaying projects is routine at this point so, let's go ahead shall we?
-What Is this?
This is my first every locomotive, it's not a new frame since it's based on the power-cars of my PTT 1 set but i just wanted to build something similar to the Class 91 locos design-wise and that would give me some experience building locomotives. But i also did some modifications by adding or modernizing some parts, like the new working whistle and the new more detailed bogeys.
As always it's designed to run on the SPR map

The type 250 has had a pretty simple development story. The N.R.C wanted to upgrade their fleet of International engines capable of operating under different voltage systems used by different nations. They already had Electric locomotives doing this type of service but a new, more flexible class was needed.
After the success of the PTT 1 sets on regional rail lines the N.R.C. decided to sign a contract with Northern Railworks to build new electric locomotives for them, and in order to save up money and time on development the decision was made to base the locomotives around the design of the PTT 1 Power cars.
The design was immediately called "double side" because of the a-symmetrical shape of the engine, while the official name indicated the manifacture with N.R. and the top design speed of 250 km/h.
They soon entered service, pulling over night trains cross borders with many other countries and proved to be fine machines for their jobs, unfortunately they didn't see much success outside of the U.S.E because every other nation already had, or were developing alternatives that ended up being chosen by their respective countries because of the in-house production of such models.
But outside of that they also became service engines that were ready to be dispatched at the first sign of trouble or in case the rails needed maintenance. Around 60 units were built and saw rather uneventful lives being still in service to this day in the N.R.C.'s fleet.

Bit of an odd design with the different cabs
@ShirakamiShimada yeah, it's kind of the defining aspect of the loco. I wanted to make a symmetrical design but it would have ended up being a-symmetrical either way.
I like how the rear cab looks soo different from the front
