Development
C Class has been in the Equestrian Navy service for more than 40 years. Since then. the Royal Equestrian Navy wanted a new class of destroyers to replace them. Under the Marineorden von 2070 was able to create and replace the old destroyers.
Destroyers have been the main class of vessels among the modern nations. In Great Country Modern Naval Doctrine, Destroyers were the most maneuverable warships in the fleet. They were the smaller scaled Cruiser of the fleet as they can carry the same armament and abilities as those of their larger class. In Great Country, It is generic for their Destroyers to have a Flight deck as their standard aviation equipment, but some Navies were equipped with both Hangar and a Flight deck which can house one helicopter.
Service History
Peacetime Career
The first batch of Destroyers spent their career in peacetime. They were mostly present in fleet shows and ceremonies of the Royal Equestrian Navy.
Northern Rebellion
After the Kingdom of Equestria declared war against the Northern Rebels, The navy quickly dispatched elements of their force including four D-class destroyers (D-47, D-48, D-49 and D-50). Two of the ships were damaged but were able to keep themselves intact until the war ended.
UN-SA war
Three ships,(D-55, D-62 and D-64) were lost during the UN-SA War while seven were heavily damaged. In the Post War, many remained in service completely eliminating the C Class Destroyers.
The 2nd Great War
With the outbreak of The 2nd Great War, D Class became the most prominent ships to protect their fleets. They were the most burned out Destroyers of the Royal Sovereign Navy. In the result, thirteen ships were lost in action all due to air strikes and torpedo attacks.
Post war period
All ships continued to serve to the present with seven in reserve.
