completely thrust vectoring aircraft

now I know why they never made one irl

how this all started

One day a few months ago I got an idea, what if I made a completely thrust vectoring aircraft, so that's what I set out to do. It's was a success in the fact that it worked, but it failed because its roll rate is about as fast as 1000lbs person running, really slow. Then I kinda forgot about it, then a few hours ago I remembered this little project and I finished it. It's not completely thrust vectoring, I did put yaw in but it was a NECESSITY! it adds a bit to the maneuverability, which helps the actual playability of the aircraft.

Normal flight controls

Yaw is inverted but it is necessary, use yaw in the same direction your doing your roll

Tell me what you think of my little idea, also if you can make it work better than I have and keeping to the completely thrust vectoring idea then go ahead! Just give me credit.

@Embo I though you were going to say like putting lipstick on a pig, no one has done it, lol. But hey I might actually do that tho lol

It’s like putting a catapult on a helicopter lol, no one has thought of it, it doesn’t really have much use, but nobodies thought of it @PapaKernels

@Embo yea exactly why I said i know why they didn't do it irl, it's one of those thoughts you know is stupid but you still do it

Yes it’s your concept, no I haven’t seen this before, just saying it’s very impractical. @PapaKernels

@UltraLight it's just a concept, Its more to see if it works. I am very well aware of all the crappy problems with it

Sooo it’s a thrust vectoring aircraft but your forgot control panels? I can’t really see a use for this, as control panels just make things work better. Also a ah to improve this is just make the tip of the nozzle move, instead of the giant pod things

    Sorry, but this kinda sucks

    ~ roll backwards
~ yaw backwards and a control surface
~ giant peice of engine moves... irl just the very tip of the nozzle does
~ you cannot take credit for this, not your idea so people dont have to give you credit if they build similar
    ~ waaaaay too much deflection
~ flies like a peice of, well, you know what
~ this is the type of plane you could easily add default lg on, why isnt there any
~ why is it so ugly

Block me if you want to. Sorry, the truth hurts sometimes.

@Griffon1 well I was going for the traditional thrust vectoring method, engines moving in the back.

I think I’m understanding the concept that you’re going for, a plane that uses nothing but thrust vectoring to fly instead of having flight surfaces?

word of advice, in the future it might be better to use VTOL nozzles attached to rotators. It results in a much lower profile.
