The KRIEG F-6 Maverick is a Paternian air superiority fighter, designed and manufactured by KRIEG, with additional production license granted to various other companies. Designed as the ultimate fighter, it spared nothing in its quest. Combining raw thrust with heavy firepower and high agility, it is a true threat to any jet who decides to dance with it at any range. While designed "without a pound for air to ground", the type proved nonetheless versatile enough to be the basis of a strike fighter variant. Introduced in 1978, it would remain in production until 2030, and in active service with the Paternian Air Force until 2050. Despite the high performance of the type, it was not without criticism; it was complex and expensive, limiting export success and logistics. As a result, the F-7 Viper was adopted, its rival F-9 design being modified into the F-12 Wasp for naval use. This particular aircraft is operated by the Air Defense Command of the Paternian Air Force in 1998.
