The L-1011 TriStar is a three engine wide body jet developed by Lockheed Corporation in the United States. It is also a wide-body jetliner launched after the Boeing 747 and DC-10. It is also the first and only wide body jet airliner of Lockheed.The L-1011 TriStar airliner was designed in 1966 and its prototype was released in September 1970. It made its first flight on November 26, 1970. In 1972, it obtained the type certificate of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States. In April 1972, it began to deliver and put into commercial flight for the first time. The production line was closed in August 1983, and the last L-1011 was manufactured in 1984. The total production of L-1011 is 250 units.
