The KH-67 Swarmer

A versatile Russian subsonic cruise missile designed specifically for swarm tactics. Its primary mission is to overwhelm enemy air defenses by sheer volume, paving the way for heavier, more powerful missiles to penetrate critical defense zones. The Swarmer's low-flying, radar-evading profile allows it to fly just above ground level, using terrain masking to avoid detection and increase its chances of reaching defended areas.

Equipped with a modest but effective warhead, the KH-67 is capable of damaging enemy radar stations, communication nodes, and lightly armored installations. While the warhead is not powerful enough for hardened targets, it adds a disruptive edge if enough KH-67s penetrate defensive lines, they can disable or degrade enemy air defenses by directly attacking radar and support facilities.

The missile’s on-board guidance system is basic but sufficient to allow limited coordination within a swarm, enabling a “saturation attack” in which dozens of KH-67s simultaneously assault defensive positions from multiple angles. This tactic forces the defender to divide resources, expending valuable interceptors and anti-missile rounds on these comparatively low-cost, single-use missiles.

The KH-67 Swarmer, often deployed alongside other more powerful missiles, turns what would otherwise be a straightforward air defense scenario into a chaotic, high-stakes challenge, ensuring more critical weaponry has a greater chance to reach high-value targets.
