SMCG LRS-3 Scrambler
Design and Development:
The LRS-3 Scrambler is a light utility vehicle designed by SMC Ground Forces. The Scrambler was first conceptualized after an airborne assault on Snowstone Island. During this operation eight Kristupas armoured cars and four LFS-7 Salamander armoured reconnaissance vehicles were paradropped into action from SC-120 transport aircraft. However neither vehicle was designed for airborne assault, and subsequently could not provide meaningful support to the infantry.
.
Also, due to their weight and size both types became bogged down in the thick snow. A Kristupas and a Salamander were knocked out by anti-tank missiles after becoming stuck. Another Kristupas was badly damaged in landing and had to be abandoned. The assault was an eventual success, but lessons were nonetheless learned. There was a need for a light, fast air-droppable vehicle with anti-tank capability.
.
The Scrambler is just that. The LRS-3 has a minimum of armoured protection, relying on its speed to help it out of difficult situations. With a top speed of over 90 mph it is 35 mph faster than the heavily armoured Kristupas. Another problem encountered by Kristupas, on both Snowstone and Maywar, was the problem of providing adequate fire support to the infantry. A survey showed that the soldier prefered mortar fire support to machine gun fire, but the Kristupas crews had to unload, assemble and then sight their mortars before firing, and were exposed outside the vehicle whilst doing so. Therefore the Scrambler can be equipped with either a mortar or anti-tank missile launcher on-board the vehicle, allowing rapid firing and the ability to fire on the move.
.
The LRS-3 Scrambler has three main roles: to destroy enemy armoured vehicles using an on-board missile launcher; to provide tactical reconnaissance across terrain inaccessible to armoured vehicles and to provide rapid battlefield mobility to a small number of soldiers.
When assigned to the anti-tank mission the Scrambler can be equipped with a single missile launcher, with a total of nine missiles on-board. During such an operation it has a crew of four: a driver, a laser-designator, a gunner and a loader.
.
For reconnaissance the Scrambler can be loaded with a number of sensor systems in the rear. In this case it has a crew of three: a driver, a gunner and a reconnaissance specialist.
For troop transport the LRS-3 can carry four combat soldiers plus a driver and a navigator. One of the soldiers would man the .303 calibre machine gun.
.
The Scrambler is lightly armoured, with just a Kevlar composite armoured "tub" around the crew compartment, which provides protection from bullets up to 0.50 calibre. There is thicker Kevlar armour surrounding the engine, fuel tank and hydraulics. This is so that the Scrambler is able to ride over sand dunes and snow drifts at high speed without becoming bogged down. For self-defence there is one lightweight .303 machine gun which can be operated by either a dedicated gunner or regular soldier.
.
In its Mk1 form the Scrambler is a highly capable and agile vehicles which can perform a number of demanding roles with success. Due to its small size it is easily deployable by air and sea and costs 25% less than many of its competitors. The LRS-3 Scrambler is available for export at a price of $356,000 per unit.

@Skov07
You can't become a country. SPMRP is a closed group.
How do I become a country
Ight bet @TheFantasticTyphoon
@Skov07
You're not an SPMRP country.
You can use them as you wish for now.
I’m in need of land vehicles for my scout infantry division.. would you be willing to trade in exchange for some of my ai support aircraft?
@thefalkenreich
If you mean 50% longer, then yes. I'll tag you unlisted when I'm done.
not at the moment, although we are beginning the construction of the Spartan class battleships and we require a hull 0.5 time longer than the monument class, are you willing to manufacture the hulls?
@thefalkenreich
Would your Army be interested in this or any other SMCG products?
