This is a (slightly updated/enhanced) Naval version of the recently remade Sokarev NU-60. This is a naval variant of the same plane, with added missiles, bombs and torpedoes. There is 2 of every piece of ordinance on the plane. The obligatory history follows here: In the late 1950s, circa 1958-59, the Alaskan Navy was looking for a new aircraft that could replace the aging American-bought F-86’s. The Sokarev NU-60 was the perfect match for the Alaskan Navy, as it’s large wingspan allowed for a powerful armament. Built by Sokarev Aero, starting in 1962 along with the NU-60 rebuilds, the NU-60N was the naval version of the NU-60, capable of dive bombing and torpedo bombing, along with interceptor capability.
