The Rorton RO.57 is a British training aircraft from the 1930's. It's first flight took place on September 3rd 1936 where the prototype G-ASAK flew around Southampton. In 1937 it began it's production run and also was displayed at the London Air Festival. On the 19th of September 1937 The Royal British Flying Corp ''RBFC'' placed an order for 500 of the type for training purposes the order was completed by the end of 1938 it also dominated the civlilian market. In 1940 the RBFC ordered 500 more of them to replace the older training biplanes from the 1920's that order was increased to 700 on the 5th of June 1941. After WWII demand started to slow for the RO.57 as newer aircraft started to replace it and on the 12th of July 1947 it was anounced that the legendary little trainer's prodution would cease with just over 2,400 built. You can still see some flying to this very day at airshows. Tecnical info stall around 63mph top speed is about 140 to 150mph 1 turns on the engine 2 is landing lights and 3 is navigation light. HAVE FUN FLYING!
