Development and history:
In 2019, the Royal Canadian Air Force was looking for a new fighter aircraft other than the F/A-18E, F-35A or JAS-39 Gripen, so they turned to Bombardier Aerospace. Bombardier produced the XF-23 prototype, which was quickly accepted by the RCAF. 230 orders have been placed by the RCAF, with 42 delivered. It has been ordered by the United States Air Force, and 4 have been delivered to them. The F-23 has been used by the USAF in Afghanistan, and is undergoing carrier trials for the United States Navy. It is expected to be ordered by the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, and even the Russians are considering placing orders as an advanced trainer.
Bombardier Aerospace is already working on the Twin Engine, Twin Tail F-29 5th Generation stealth fighter, heavily inspired by the F-22 Raptor.
