After the us denied the write island defense organization of the requested f-35 shipments in 2017 the RID started to work on a project named project ace the new stealth fighter. In the island sparked a lot of controversy over the need of a naval backed stealth fighter thinking that the thunder flash was in no need of replacement. In August of 2019 an operation was conducted to bomb bandit airport. The aircraft swooped in undetected and did the bombing run than proceeded to shoot down 2 mig 17s.
