The Avro Liberator was a canvas-covered sea-based heavy bomber used in World War 1 when the British wanted a heavy bomber to bomb German U-Boats. Avro (this is fictional) made the Liberator, it carried 20 12.5 pounds bombs on each side and can take off from small and large ports, including Dover. However, the heavy bomber boasted a huge tail meaning that the rear gunner couldn't directly shot back if confronted. Many Liberators were shot down because of this flaw.
