The exerimental FA-22 NX (Fictional) shares a general airframe with the USAF F22. However, it’s role is air-to-ground attack.
Armament: One high-energy laser cannon with a 6 mile destruction range - Select Gun icon and fire. Laser cannon built by @SledDriver .
Three Cleavers (Use
Activation Groups=5,6,7 launch Cleavers in a salvo or use std lock-on and fire each single missile individually via weapons rockets GUI.)
Eight Infernos (Activation Group=4 fires all eight at once, to destroy a large Jundroo Carrier, or use std lock-on and fire each single missile via rockets Gui.)

Thank you @DonaldDuckje
Good to know, @Stingray. The main reason I use custom reticles is that I like to fly with the HUD disabled. That and the default crosshair is just too big on my monitor, and too bright.
Since you are a different platform, FYI on iOS targets are visible at 6-7 miles, on OSX visible at 10 miles. Your latest post using modified Cleavers worked great at low speed, in Chase View. @SledDriver
Got it: precise aim is the key for this initial gun mod platform. I re-position whatever cockpit I’m using on my platform of choice to use standard Jundroo ranging and targeting, including addition of certain missiles for short-range and long-range Jundroo ranging. I like the old-fashioned targetting reticle. @SledDriver
@Stingray That seems about right. It all depends on the muzzle velocity. A gun with a muzzle velocity of 500 has a range of 1 mile, so one with a muzzle velocity of 5000 (as on this plane) has a range of 10 miles. But at that range you can hardly see the target. With my plasma shotgun mounted on one of my spaceship-type builds, I've confirmed that you can hit a target 10 miles away with a gun that has a muzzle velocity of 5000. When flying an airplane, you have to take into account that you can barely see the target at 10 miles, and when you do see it, you have to aim and that takes time. So 6 miles effective range from an airplane sounds about right. If you used a very slow aircraft with very precise handling, you could increase that to the limit of visual range.
Now you've given me an idea for a beyond-visual-range howitzer. Using a spotter drone, you could hit a target at any range, with a high enough muzzle velocity, as long as it was line-of-sight.
@SledDriver this is your modded gun on the fore external fuselage. I modified your laser cannon build just to mount it. Test checkpoint required here: this e.g., your cannon, has a 6 mile targeting + 6 mile destruction range per repeated total destruction of the USS Beast and USS Tiny single mission tests. Q: did I mess up your laser cannon, or can you corroborate similar tests on your airborne posts?
