Avro Lancaster Grand Slam (read description)

2,755 GeneralPatrick2  6.2 years ago

The famous Avro Lancaster, now with the Grand Slam 22,000 lb earthquake bomb! I took a good chunk of time modifying the Lancaster made by user https://www.simpleplanes.com/u/thealban and at last I have uploaded it!

With many, many thanks to https://www.simpleplanes.com/u/LegnaK for making the Grand Slam for me!

Features I've changed (from thealban's design):
Engine power; it flies at a somewhat more realistic speed than before
Weaponry; it's got the Grand Slam, so no more nose turret or midsection turret! it took me a while to get the nose right after the turret removal
Flaps; it's got flaps now! Act. 8 activates them, turn act 8 off to use the turret

Controls: Act. 8 plus VTOL controls the flaps; Act. 2 plus VTOL controls the rear turret. Act. 1 drops the Grand Slam. There are three cameras, one behind the cockpit, one in the Grand Slam, and one in the rear turret.

Takeoff: Flaps down, full throttle. Don't forget to yaw to the right, this bad boy has a habit of turning to the left. Pitch down when you reach about 160-ish mph and take off. Return flaps to normal and fly like you usually would.

Landing: Flaps 50, land however you usually land because my technique is probably different than someone else's. Just don't forget the landing gear!

Note: When dropping the Grand Slam, remember that you're dropping a 22,000 weight off your plane. Compensate accordingly.

Note 2: Don't dive-bomb ships with the Grand Slam, the blast radius will obliterate you, and so will the bomber-like agility of a medium bomber.
