Auto Credit Based on Turdy1's Curtiss BFC-2 Goshawk
Near the end of 1934, Curtiss fitted retractable landing gear to their F11C-2. The resulting XF11C-3 was ordered into production, but by the time they arrived, they were re-designated BF2C'1's. While generally superior to preceding Hawks, wing vibrations from the engine would result in them being withdrawn within a year of them entering service.
