Mikoyan MiG-31 Foxhound
I've had this rotting for about a year and a half cause i got too lazy to finish it. Now that I was reminded of the existence of this game after SP2 was announced, I finally uploaded it.
History Lesson:
The Mikoyan MiG 31 Foxhound was the Successor to the mass produced MiG 25 Foxbat.
The MiG 31 was a long-range two-seater Interceptor developed to fix a lot of the Foxbat's problems such as its short service life. The Foxbat was originally designed for long-ranged high speed interception missions at the cost of significant maneuverability at interception speeds. Though the MiG 31 still flew like a brick, it was significantly better than the MiG 25's and have more advanced avionics, radar and range.
The MiG 31 was known for using the R-33E Fox 3 Long-range missile similar to the AIM 54s of the Tomcat, and could mount 4 on its belly. Though initial production models did carry a 23 mm Cannon, this was later removed.
Gameplay:
The plane has a half finished clickable cockpit with gear controls, throttles and armament safety controls available as well as a HUD with a radar screen.
It also carries 64 Countermeasures.
I do note that its a MiG 29 Cockpit but at the time of making it I wasn't aware of the mistake as I used a DCS mod for reference and I got too lazy to make the second seat.
