After the la-9 was put into mass production, the La-11, a single seat piston escort fighter, was developed on the basis of la-9, which was mainly used to escort bombers. The La-11 prototype first flew in May 1947. The shape and body structure of La-11 and la-9 are basically the same, the main improvement is to increase the fuel storage in the aircraft, and the weapon equipment is changed to three nr-23 23mm machine guns. La-11 is a piston fighter with advanced flight performance in the late 1940s. However, since the jet fighters began to be equipped with troops at that time, only a small number of production (including about 50 La-11 two seat trainer) was put into use as reconnaissance aircraft, and was discontinued in 1953.
