The ME-262 was the first ever fighter jet that saw combat, operated by Germany in WW2. It saw use during the ending years of the war, and was much faster than most Allied propeller planes. It could easily outrun Allied fighters, but its maneuverability was horrendous and the allied pilots took advantage of this. It was also vulnerable during landing and takeoff, and most ME-262s was shot down during this stage.
