Medium Tank M5 Contender
"While infantry will forever be the body of an army, the sword of any army in this age is the medium tank."
-General John Burns, Paternian Army High Command.
A medium tank developed by the Paternian Army to replace the Medium Tank M2. Armed with a high-velocity 76mm gun and two 7.62mm machine guns, it combines mobility, firepower, and protection into a package that eases logistics. The single-axis gun stabilization, while not sufficient to allow accurate shooting on the move, allows for quicker target acquisition when coming to a halt and for peek-a-boo tactics from a depression in the ground. It is manned by a crew of 5: TC, gunner, loader, driver, and assistant driver. While resembling the Medium Tank M4, it differs from it that the M5's transmission is to the rear, allowing for a lower profile tank than the M4. However, it shares many M4 components.

@Pilotmario It looks like a Sherman Jumbo!
I know, that's why the British named it Ronson @Pilotmario
@TemDesBur Ronson was a British brand of lighter.
@TemDesBur Actually, every tank in service at that time was prone to fires, Sherman included.
@Pilotmario The term Ronson was a way brits referred to the Sherman, due to how easily the Pz 4 could set them alight
Ronson is a Canadian or British brand. @TemDesBur
Our troops use Zippo lighters, but that name is unofficially used to refer to flamethrower tanks. @TemDesBur
What would be your alternate Paternian name for Ronson lighters?
