Focke Wulf Fw-190 D-9 "Dora"

61.2k Sergio666  1.5 years ago

Hello comrades, today I decided to publish this variant of the Focke Wulf Fw 190, the variant D9 - "Dora".
It was intended for the Pacific theater against the US. In their projections, various engine models were suggested, both online (the final project would be the Ta-152), and racial engines, such as the DB603, to be able to perform at high altitude.

Important Tips

I recommend lowering the Flaps (Trim) by 10%, to help you with takeoff, and level the flight.
I'm not an expert in aerodynamics, so it has some flaws, like it pitches a lot, so the flaps helped me.
The ignition system is in a Gift and the order also appears in an image. Sorry for not adding text to the buttons, but it already exceeded the parts count for my device
I hope you like it, comrades!

@SnapTite Let me point out a few things that you mentioned here.
    - OP is not a native English speaker, and uses a translator to get things in order with the description. It's bound to make mistakes. Whether they can just copypasta an entire wikipedia page just for this purpose or not, is entirely by their choice.
    - Physics realism in SimplePlanes was never the best. Nor is any flight simulator's. The ludicrous numbers are highly likely just what they are for compensation in flight performance due to, again, this game's physics being complete balls and how this fighter was built in the first place by the OP.
    - You're making a big deal out of small things that can easily be corrected. I don't think it would hurt you to criticize people without indirectly calling them out for and implying that they're dumb.
    - And since you seem to be more on the well educated side, why don't you try your hand at building a realistic Fw-190 because you feel quite passionate about it.
    .
I acknowledge that Sergio666 has flaws in building (and I still can't quite get over the low vertical offset of the pilot camera) but you have to admit that there was effort put in. Let alone making the build appear decent. It still needs a ton of work, that can't be denied. But the way you presented your criticism on this is downright just trying to make him look bad for little stuff.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about? The Fw190D-9 was NEVER designed for the Pacific as it could never get there unless shipped in broken-down components by submarine. It was built to stem the tide of American bombers destroying German Industry. The Daimler-Benz DB603 was an INLINE engine (not online) {inverted V-12} which replaced the BMW 801 twin row RADIAL (not racial) engine in the Fw190 A, F and G variants. If it had been possible, the radial engines would have been better in the Pacific because of durability and battles were fought at lower altitudes. Your horsepower to weight ratio is pure nonsense. If it had a ratio of over 5900 horsepower/pound, we would be replacing F-22's, Eurofighter Typhoons, Su-57's and everything else with this massively overpowered fighter. The Fw190's loaded weight was under 11,000 lbs and its empty weight is NOT N/A (approx 7,000lbs). Even the twin-engined Bristol Beaufighter didn't break 25,000 lbs carrying a torpedo! The image may look good but you have obviously done less than zero research on this incredible craft.

This has some features I love and then some that confuse me. Firstly, why no trim and the flaps are reversed. Second, I think the acceleration is a little too slow once airborne at full throttle but I do like that it’s at least not hyper fast like most builds. The claims rate feels a little slow and it’s hard to reach a realistically fast cruise speed even on full throttle. The easy departure from flight is an amazing feature but I think it stalls too soon. I’m not an FW190 pilot though so I’m no expert but these are just some observations. Overall though I really love this build and like the attention to detail you put in. I prefer underpowered slightly to the majority of the hyper fast and manoeuvrable planes you usually get here. Great job on this one!
